The Accelerated Foundation Programme

This is a six months course that provides a quick route to university in Britain for international students. During the course, students will not only take Oxford School of Learning examinations but also professional examinations run by the Institute of Commercial Management.

The six-month course is split into 8 modules:

• Study Skills (20 credits)
• Management & Communications (20 credits)

• Economics for Business (20 credits)
• Finance and Accounting (20 Credits)
• Personal Finance (10 credits – portfolio assessment)
• Student in the Environment (10 credits – portfolio assessment)
• Research Assignment (20 credits)

Entrance criteria:

All students who seek acceptance for the University Foundation Course must:

• Have IELTS 5.5
• Be a minimum of 17 years old
• Pass the Oxford School of Learning entrance examination

Start dates

The Foundation Course starts in January of each year. If you wish to start in September then tuition can be arranged to enable you to prepare for the Foundation Course. This tuition will be arranged at NO EXTRA COST WHATSOEVER providing your full fees for the Foundation Course have been paid.

This pre-Foundation Course will be 30 lessons a week of 45 minutes each = 22.5 hours a week. The emphasis will be on English Language especially Business English. We want to ensure that everyone on the Accelerated Foundation Course is completely fluent in business terminology before they start.

Lessons

The Accelerated University Foundation Course is SIX days a week. The working day is 9-3. There will be 40 lessons a week of 45 minutes each = 30 hours. Lessons are then supplemented by homework which may be computer-based using our e-learning course, audio-based, using our 'Millionaire MBA CDs' or reading, revising and preparation. This is considerably more actual contact hours than on some Foundation courses elsewhere. Despite this being a serious course for serious students only, we still expect you to relax, unwind - and keep fit. That's why the course fee includes Membership of Esporta which will give you unlimited access to two swimming pools, gymnasium, yoga and aerobic classes, sauna etc etc. An unbeatable combination of work, rest and play !

Assessment

Assessment will be by a mixture of:

1. Portfolios plus an oral interview
2. Project work
3. Examinations

The assessment will take place at the end of the first and final term

At the end of the course you will have:

• A Foundation Diploma accepted by the majority of UK universities
• A Diploma in Business Studies awarded by the Institute of Commercial Management
• A place in University
• Extensive skills that will gain you university entrance {PLUS prepare you fully for University academic life
• A wide range of skills to start up and grow your own business

Professional Examinations

It can be seen from the above how the subject areas are all incorporated into the Accelerated University Foundation Programme. Thus ALL students enter a dual qualification. The advantage of studying for the Diploma in parallel is that you will be able to present Universities with a successful Foundation Programme plus an internationally recognised set of professional examinations. Remember that the Diploma is studied at no extra cost!

This course lasts 8 weeks and students will study strategies, mindset and leadership models of 25 award-winning business masterminds and learn how to apply the lessons to start or grow your own business. The course is taught via CD, workbook and internet-based lessons.
